Stretches Following a Tongue and/or Lip Tie Release

Stretches or lifts are different than oral strengthening/range of motion exercises. Both are important, but these are specifically focusing on wound healing at the release site and preventing "reattachment" or development of scar tissue. In the first 2-3 weeks, stretches/lifts are more important than range of motion exercises if it is hard to accomplish both throughout the day.

I recommend reviewing the videos below demonstrating different stretching techniques. Try a few approaches and see which ones you are the most comfortable with. Remember, the goal (especially under the tongue) is to see a vertical diamond (after release)—that means you’re reaching the base of the tongue. If you can’t see the diamond, you are likely not deep enough.

This one includes massage immediately, which not all providers recommend - not because it's harmful, but because they think it's unnecessary until a bit later. The potential tradeoff, however, is if you follow this method very effectively, you may actually be able to do it less times per day (only 3) vs. the general recommendation of 5-6 times per day.
